Liang Zhenying, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, said in his speech that the current COVID-19 continues to recur, and the world economic recovery is under pressure, which has brought considerable challenges to Hong Kong as a global financial and shipping center. In the future, Hong Kong should continue to give play to its advantages in shipping resources, innovate service models, enhance industrial added value, and maintain its leading position in industrial development.
Li Jiachao, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR, said that Hong Kong's position as an international shipping center was clearly supported in the National "Fourteenth Five Year Plan" and the Outline of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Development Plan. The Hong Kong SAR government will continue to consolidate Hong Kong's advantages and further develop high value-added maritime services.
